Frances was born in 1725.  Frances' father was Benjamin Adams and her mother was Agnes Ezell.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Adams and Elizabeth Brunsdon. She had eleven brothers and six sisters, named William, John, Thomas, Daniel, James, Benjamin, Spencer, Jesse, Jacob, Charles, Edmund, Elizabeth, Agnes, Martha, Anne, Sarah and Mary.  She was the second oldest of the eighteen children.
