Lodowick, known as Luke, was born in 1732.  Luke's father was Peter Abshire and his mother was Eve Appinger.  His paternal grandparents were Abraham Abshire and Phobe Wright. He had five brothers named Christian, William, Jacob, William and Abraham.  He was the oldest of the six children.  He died at the age of 90 on November 12th, 1822.
