Christian was born in 1734.  Christian's father was Peter Abshire and his mother was Eve Appinger.  His paternal grandparents were Abraham Abshire and Phobe Wright. He had five brothers named Luke, William, Jacob, William and Abraham.  He was the second oldest of the six children.  He died at the age of 64 in 1798.
