Richard was born in July 1786.  Richard's father was Henry Skewes and his mother was Mary Jolly.  His paternal grandparents were Henry Skewes and Margery Behenna. He had three brothers named Peter, Peter and Henry.  He was the youngest of the four children.  He died at the age of 68 on September 30th, 1854.
