Hannah was born in 1864.  Hannah's father was Robert Rushton and her mother was Hannah Ickeringill.  Her maternal grandparents were Thomas Ickeringill and Sarah Longbottom. She had four brothers and a sister, named Thomas, William, Robert, John and Sarah.  She was the fifth oldest of the six children.
