Frederick was born on October 23rd, 1861 in West Street, Exeter, Devonshire, UK.¹ Frederick's father was Washington Davison and his mother was Ellen Mary Ann Dean. His paternal grandparents were Christopher Davison and Caroline Frances Haswell; his maternal grandparents were John Dean and Susan Eldon. He had four sisters named Isabella, Constance, Elizabeth and Ellen. He was the oldest of the five known children.
