Washington was born in 1836 in Hartlepool, Durham, UK.¹ Washington's father was Christopher Davison and his mother was Caroline Frances Haswell. He had three brothers and a sister, named Robert, William, Sydney and Anna. He was the youngest of the five children. He died due to a respiratory problem and/or pneumonia, Phthisis, at the age of 36 on October 17th, 1872 in 29 Bower Street, Commercial Road East, London, UK.²

- At the time of the census 1861; Washington and Ellen are visiting Mary and Elizabeth Dean, possibly Ellen's mother and sister. To be investigated.
