Mária was born on March 15th, 1799 in Vedrődújfalu (Cífer).1   Her godfather was Zelnik József and her godmother was Mária.  Mária's father was Peskó Péter and her mother was ?Banicsény? Katalin.  Her paternal grandfather was Peskó János and her paternal grandmother is Mária. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Márton, János, József, Ilona and Anna.  She was the youngest of the six children.
