János was born on July 8th, 1787 in Vedrődújfalu (Cífer).1   His godfather was Sutovszky Márton and his godmother was Ilona.  János' father was Peskó Péter and his mother was ?Banicsény? Katalin.  His paternal grandfather was Peskó János and his paternal grandmother is Mária. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Márton, József, Ilona, Anna and Mária.  He was the third oldest of the six children.
