Mary's father was James Mayfield Sr. and her mother was <Unknown>. She had six brothers and a sister, named Micajah, James, Isaac, Sutherlin, Elisha, Elijah and Sarah.  She was the third youngest of the eight known children.  She died about July 1792 in Davidson County, North Carolina.
