Margrietgen was born in 1625 in Sprang-Capelle and her baptism took place on October 14th, 1625 in Capelle (Noord Brabant).1   Her godmothers were Alet Fransen Vermeer, Aenken Josten. Margrietgen's father was Frans Franszn Vermeer and her mother was Cunken Ariaensdr.  Her paternal grandparents were Frans Vermeer and N.N. N.N.. She had four brothers and a sister, named Frans Franszn, Ariaen, Jan Fransen, Sebastiaen Fransen and Marytgen.  She was the third oldest of the six children.
