Maartje was born in November 1807 in Putten and her baptism took place there on November 8th, 1807.1 2  Maartje's father was Renger Aartszn Rengersen and her mother was Dirkje Buijen.  Her paternal grandparents were Arend Rengersen and Grietje Aartsdr Martenszn N.N.; her maternal grandparents were Sebert Buijng and Maartje Willemsdr N.N.. She had two brothers and a sister, named Aart, Evert Aartszn and Maartje. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Willem and Maartje.  She died at the age of 86 on June 27th, 1894 in Putten.1
