Gerardus was born in March 1708 in Amsterdam and his baptism took place on March 22nd, 1708 in Amsterdam (RK).1   His godfather was Gerardus Janszn Heling and his godmother was Susanna Dirkxdr Koopman. Gerardus' father was Joost Parmentier and his mother was Elizabeth Jansdr N.N..  His paternal grandparents were Gilles Parmentier and Catelijne van Landeghem; his maternal grandparents were Jan Gerritszn N.N. and Trijntje Claesdr N.N.. He had five brothers and a sister, named Josephus, Johannes, Gerrit, Johannes, Arnoldus and Alijda.  He was the fourth oldest of the seven children.  He died before April 25th, 1709 in Amsterdam.1
