Josephus was born in August 1701 in Amsterdam and his baptism took place on September 22nd, 1701 in Amsterdam (RK).1   His godfather was Gerardus Janszn Heling and his godmother was Susanna Dirkxdr Koopman. Josephus' father was Joost Parmentier and his mother was Elizabeth Jansdr N.N..  His paternal grandparents were Gilles Parmentier and Catelijne van Landeghem; his maternal grandparents were Jan Gerritszn N.N. and Trijntje Claesdr N.N.. He had five brothers and a sister, named Johannes, Gerardus, Gerrit, Johannes, Arnoldus and Alijda.  He was the oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 1 on February 3rd, 1703 in Amsterdam.2
