Barbara was born in 1744 and her baptism took place on January 3rd, 1741 in Amersfoort.1   Her godmother was Gertrudis Nieuwenhuijse (uit naam van Andries Weede). Barbara's father was Petrus Otterspoor and her mother was Hendrina Nieuwenhuijse.  Her paternal grandparents were Matthijs Otterspoor and Willemina van Vasen. She had four brothers and two sisters, named Matheus, Matheus, Lucas, Wilhelmus, Guilielma and Wilhelmina.  She was the second oldest of the seven children.  She died at the age of 81 on January 30th, 1825 in Amersfoort.2
