Cornelis was born in 1747 in Zaltbommel and his baptism took place there on March 30th, 1747.1  Cornelis' father was Cornelius van Oosterhout and his mother was Beertijen van Avesaat.  His paternal grandparents are Cornelis van Oosterhout and Feijke Gerrits; his maternal grandparents are Adriaan van Avezaat and Jenneke Cornelisdr de Vries. He had a brother and three sisters, named Adrianus, Sophia, Jenneke and Elisabet.  He was the youngest of the five children.  He died at the age of 39 in 1786 in Zaltbommel.  He was buried on April 22nd, 1786.1 1
