Sytgen was born in 1644 in Capelle (Noord Brabant) and her baptism took place there on November 28th, 1644.1   Her godmothers were Anneken Lenertsdr, Aentgen Aertsdr, Aentgen Joost Aerstdr. Sytgen's father was Thonis Dirxs Peterszn Meele and her mother was Sijtgen Petersdr Cristiaans.  Her paternal grandparents were Dirck Peterszn Meele and Aentgen Thonisdr; her maternal grandparents were Peter Corsten N.N. and Maijcken N.N.. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Dirck, Peeter, Peeter, Pleuntjen Teunisdr and Mayken Teunisdr.  She was the fifth oldest of the six children.
