Peeter was born in 1649 in Sprang-Capelle and his baptism took place on November 28th, 1649 in Capelle (Noord Brabant).1   His godmother was Anneken Leenaertsdr. Peeter's father was Thonis Dirxs Peterszn Meele and his mother was Sijtgen Petersdr Cristiaans.  His paternal grandparents were Dirck Peterszn Meele and Aentgen Thonisdr; his maternal grandparents were Peter Corsten N.N. and Maijcken N.N.. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Dirck, Peeter, Pleuntjen Teunisdr, Mayken Teunisdr and Sytgen.  He was the youngest of the six children.
