Peeter was born in 1644 in Capelle (Noord Brabant) and his baptism took place there on November 28th, 1644.1   His godmothers were Anneken Lenertsdr, Aentgen Aertsdr, Aentgen Joost Aerstdr. Peeter's father was Thonis Dirxs Peterszn Meele and his mother was Sijtgen Petersdr Cristiaans.  His paternal grandparents were Dirck Peterszn Meele and Aentgen Thonisdr; his maternal grandparents were Peter Corsten N.N. and Maijcken N.N.. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Dirck, Peeter, Pleuntjen Teunisdr, Mayken Teunisdr and Sytgen.  He was the fourth oldest of the six children.
