Geriken Jansdr was born in January 1643 and her baptism took place on January 18th, 1643 in 's Grevelduin-Capelle.1   Her godfather was Jan Janszn de Jonge and her godmother was Maycken Maertensdr. Geriken Jansdr's father was Jan Gerritszn de Looper and her mother was Geertruyt Maertensdr Dolck.  Her paternal grandparents were Gerrit Willems Gerritszn de Looper and Jenneke Joostdr Poets; her maternal grandparents were Maerten Adriaenszn Dolck and Catalijn Jansdr de Jonge. She had three brothers and five sisters, named Gerrit Janszn, Maerten Jansen Gerritszn, Arien Janszn, Lysbeth Jansdr, Jenneke Jansdr, Willemken Jansdr, Peeterken Jansdr and Janneke Jansdr.  She was the sixth oldest of the nine children.
