Govert was born in 1786 in Besoijen and his baptism took place there on January 29th, 1786.1  Govert's father was Antonie Toniszn Kuijsten and his mother was Jenneke Govertsdr van Helvoirt.  His paternal grandparents were Tonnis Antoniszn Kuijsten and Lambertje Nieuwstraten; his maternal grandparents were Govert van Helvoirt and Helena Oremans. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Antonie, Antonie, Leendert, Lambertus, Helena, Lammertje and Johanna.  He was the fifth oldest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 67 on September 15th, 1853 in Besoijen.2
