Johanna was born in 1813 in Bleiswijk.1  Johanna's father was Zweer Kant and her mother was Willempje Dekker.  Her paternal grandparents are Jan Kant and Anneke van der Vin. She had five brothers and four sisters, named Jan, Willem, Goose, Willem, Gerrit, Anna, Trijntje, Willempje and Willempje.  She was the second oldest of the ten children.  She died at the age of 72 on January 9th, 1885 in Moerkapelle.1
