Johanna was born in 1724 in Andel and her baptism took place there on February 6th, 1724.1 2  Johanna's father was Aart Janszn van Hemert and her mother was Janneken Bastiaansdr van Vuuren.  Her maternal grandparents were Bastiaan Janszn Loijen van Vuuren and Hendrina Pieters van Soeten. She had a brother and three sisters, named Jan, Hendrien, Maaijke and Belia.  She was the third oldest of the five children.  She died at the age of 66 on June 7th, 1790 in Andel.2
