Jacob was born in 1708 in Gameren. Jacob's father was Jan Corneliszn de Geus and his mother is Jenneke Jacobs Salomons.  His paternal grandparents were Cornelis Janszn de Geus and Hendrikske Aalbertsdr van Gameren; his maternal grandparents are Jacob Janszn Salomons and Geertje Jansdr van Kerkwijk. He had two brothers and five sisters, named Cornelis, Jan Janszn, Hilleke, Marijke, Lijske, Geertje and Hendrikske.  He was the oldest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 79 on September 14th, 1787 in Gameren.
