Peter was born on March 23rd, 1803 in Herpt and his baptism took place on March 27th, 1803 in Heesbeen.1   His godmother was/is Clasina Baijens. Peter's father is Jan van Gammeren and his mother was Johanna Doedijns.  His paternal grandparents are Peter van Gammeren and Aartje van Nederhemert; his maternal grandparents were Simon Sijmenszn Doedijns and Clasina Andriesdr Baijens. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Lambert, Simon, David, Clasina and Elisabeth.  He is the oldest of the six children.
