Jacoba Elisabeth was born on May 24th, 1839 in Harderwijk.1  Jacoba Elisabeth's father was Albert van Buuren and her mother was Willemina Johanna Arnold.  Her paternal grandparents were Gerrit Jan van Buuren and Dirkje Numan; her maternal grandparents were Johannes Arnold and Gerritjen Blauwenoord. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Gerrit Johannes, Johannes Willem, Gerritje and Dirkjen.  She was the youngest of the five children.
