Egbert Janszn was born in 1648 in Haaften and his baptism took place there on October 8th, 1648 conducted by Reverend Isaaci Moringij.1   His godfather was Beernt Woutersen van Heerden (Crab) and his godmother was Meriken Otten. Egbert Janszn's father is Jan Egbertszn Blomhert and his mother is Weijntken Cornelisdr N.N..  His paternal grandparents were Egbert Janszn Blomhert and Heesken Gomperts N.N.. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Egbert Janszn, Cornelis Janszn, Cornelis Janszn, Otto Janszn, Grietie Jansdr and Hesken Jansdr.  He was the second oldest of the seven children.  He died before 1653.1
