Cornelis Janszn was born in 1655 in Haaften and his baptism took place there on September 28th, 1655.1   His godmother was/is Geertken Egbertsdr Blomhert. Cornelis Janszn's father is Jan Egbertszn Blomhert and his mother is Weijntken Cornelisdr N.N..  His paternal grandparents were Egbert Janszn Blomhert and Heesken Gomperts N.N.. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Egbert Janszn, Egbert Janszn, Cornelis Janszn, Otto Janszn, Grietie Jansdr and Hesken Jansdr.  He is the fifth oldest of the seven children.
