Gysbert was born in 1716 in Sprang-Capelle and his baptism took place on August 2nd, 1750 in Capelle (Noord Brabant).1  Gysbert's father was Hendrik Hendrikszn de Bie and his mother was Marie Gijsbertsdr Konings.  His paternal grandparents were Hendrik Corneliszn de Bie and Beatrix Lenders. He had a brother and two sisters, named Cornelis, Ariaantje and Hendrina.  He is the second oldest of the four children.
