Cornelis was born in 1713 in Sprang-Capelle and his baptism took place there on September 10th, 1713.1  Cornelis' father was Hendrik Hendrikszn de Bie and his mother was Marie Gijsbertsdr Konings.  His paternal grandparents were Hendrik Corneliszn de Bie and Beatrix Lenders. He had a brother and two sisters, named Gysbert, Ariaantje and Hendrina.  He is the oldest of the four children.
