Nilam bai was born on September 16th, 1912 in Diu.  Nilam bai's father is Kalyanchand Motichand and her mother is Sivkor Manekchand.  Her paternal grandparents are Motichand and <Unknown>; her maternal grandparents are Manekchand and Premi. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Kantilal, Bhanudas, Charandas, Dhirajbala and Chandabai. She had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Yashvantlal [Esvantlal], Vijay, Himatrai and Jyotibala.  She died at the age of 79 in 1991.
