James was born on March 20th, 1907 in Lincoln.1   James' father was William Edward Waring and his mother was Sarah Elizabeth Maplestone.  His paternal grandparents were Frederick Waring and Sarah Turner; his maternal grandparents were John Richard Maplestone and Betsy Jane Blades. He had a brother and a sister, named Billy and Edith.  He was the second oldest of the three children.  He died at the age of 80 on May 13th, 1987.
