Lydia was born on December 30th, 1785 in Little Compton, Newport, RI.  Lydia's father was Benjamin Coe and her mother was Sarah Simmons.  Her paternal grandparents were John Coe and Rebecca Taylor; her maternal grandparents were Adam Simmons and Deborah Church. She had five brothers and four sisters, named Joseph, Adam, Benjamin, Ezra, Samuel, Henrietta, Diana, Rhoda and Betsy.  She was the fourth oldest of the ten children.  She died at the age of 62 on August 30th, 1848 in Little Compton, Newport, RI.
