Sarah was born on May 27th, 1866 in Limehouse, Middlesex and her christening took place on June 21st, 1866 in Saint John Evangelist, Limehouse, Middlesex.1 2  Sarah's father was James Thake and her mother was Sarah Eliza Horncastle.  Her maternal grandparents were Thomas James Horncastle and Elizabeth Ritchie. She had four brothers and four sisters, named James, William, John, William, Elizabeth, Mary, Rebecca and Maria.  She was the fifth oldest of the nine children.  She died at the age of 2 in June 1868 in Limehouse, Middlesex.3
