Mary Ann, known as Rosetta, was born on August 29th, 1908 in Mile End, Middlesex.1   Rosetta's father was William Alfred Horncastle and her mother was Elizabeth Sarah Sheldrake. She had two brothers and three sisters, named William, Alfred, Hannah, Mary and Lusitania.  She was the third oldest of the six children.  She died from a stroke at the age of 63 in 1971 in Poplar, Middlesex.2
