Susanna was born in 1806 in Botley, Hampshire and her christening took place there on December 26th, 1806.1 2  Susanna's father was Edward Emery and her mother was Mary Smith.  Her paternal grandparents were Joshua Emery and Barbara Booker; her maternal grandparents were Peter Smith and Jane. She had seven brothers and five sisters, named Henry, Edward, Peter, Joshua, Jacob, George, Joseph, Mary, Jane, Barbara, Ann and Charity.  She was the fourth youngest of the thirteen children.  She died at the age of 79 on February 22nd, 1885 in Bursledon, Hampshire.3
