Elizabeth was born in 1729 in Botley, Hampshire and her christening took place there on October 2nd, 1729.1 2   Elizabeth's father was Jacob Emery and her mother was Elizabeth Markes.  Her paternal grandparents were Andrew Emery and Sarah; her maternal grandparents were James Markes and Elizabeth Fox. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Joshua, Jacob, Thomas, Mary, Sarah and Mary.  She was the second oldest of the seven children.
