Richard was born in 1749 in Great Wishford, Wiltshire and his christening took place there on December 26th, 1749.1   Richard's father was John Brown and his mother was Martha Morris.  His paternal grandparents were Richard Brown and Ann; his maternal grandparents were John Morris and Martha Hill. He had three brothers and a sister, named Elijah, John, William and Martha.  He was the youngest of the five children.  He died at the age of 11 on March 12th, 1760.
