Ann was born in 1798 in Bottisham, Cambridgeshire and her christening took place there on March 7th, 1798.1 2   Ann's father was William Benstead and her mother was Elizabeth Gibbon. She had three brothers named John, William and William.  She was the youngest of the four children.
