Eliza was born in 1846 in Snitterfield, Nr.Stratford-Upon-Avon, Warwickshire.¹ Eliza's father was Samuel DUFFIN and her mother was Martha CALLAWAY. Her paternal grandparents were John DUFFIN and Mary ROBBINS . She had five brothers and two sisters, named John, Thomas, George, Samuel, William, Jane and Mary. She was the oldest of the eight children.
