Iren  Rachel was born in 1897 in Sarospatak, Zemplen, Hungary.  Iren  Rachel's father was Rabbi Herman Halevi Schweiger and her mother was Berta Haas.  Her paternal grandparents were Moritz Schweiger and Betti Be'sa Schreiber; her maternal grandparents were Sigmund (Zusman) Haas and Rosa Schwartz. She had two brothers and a sister, named Moshe Miklosh-Nikola, Arthur and Elizabeth.  She died at the age of 61 on January 19th, 1958.
