Leon was born in 1915.  Leon's father was Yaakov Margaliot and his mother was Necha Neta Ebenstein.  His paternal grandparents were Chaim Margaliot and Blima Braunstein. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Shelomo, Chaim, Klara, Sara and Malka.  He was the third oldest of the six children.  He died  due to Holocaust at the age of 28 in 1943.
