Tepi was born on April 22nd, 1854.  Tepi's father was Adolf Haas and her mother was Regi (Rebeka).  Her paternal grandparents were Josef Haas and Rebeka  Regi Wohl. She had a brother and two sisters, named Leopold, Mari and Abe.  She was the second oldest of the four children.
