Leopold was born on May 28th, 1852.  Leopold's father was Adolf Haas and his mother was Regi (Rebeka).  His paternal grandparents were Josef Haas and Rebeka  Regi Wohl. He had three sisters named Tepi, Mari and Abe.  He was the oldest of the four children.
