Jacob was born in March 1811.  Jacob's father was Adam Crick and his mother was Mary Hammer.  His paternal grandparents were Philip Krick and Catharine Hain. He had five brothers and a sister, named John, Peter, Henry, Daniel, David and Susannah.  He was the second oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 46 on March 28th, 1857.
