David was born on July 21st, 1823.  David's father was Adam Crick and his mother was Mary Hammer.  His paternal grandparents were Philip Krick and Catharine Hain. He had five brothers and a sister, named John, Jacob, Peter, Henry, Daniel and Susannah.  He was the youngest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 70 on November 2nd, 1893.
