Rhoda was born on September 10th, 1859 at St Georges in the East.  Rhoda's father was William (of Chalfont St Peters) Payne (Porter/ Drayman) and her mother was Margaret Weedon.  Her paternal grandparents were Joseph (Farmer/Publican) Payne and Ann; her maternal grandparents are James      (a Joiner)  Weedon and <Unknown>. She had six brothers and two sisters, named William, William, Charles, James, Margaret, Richard, Mary and Margaret.  She was the second youngest of the nine children.
