Ann was born in 1839.  Ann's father was Joseph (Farmer/Publican) Payne and her mother was Ann. She had five brothers and four sisters, named William, Charles, John, Thomas, Richard, Sarah, Margaret, Rhoda and Eliza.  She was the second youngest of the ten children.
