John  was born about March 1838 and his baptism took place on March 28th, 1838 at St Margaret's  Church Barking.1  John 's father was John William Fisher (bap All Saint St Dunstan Fisherman died at sea ?) and his mother was Martha Quash.  His paternal grandparents were John Fisher (Shipwright of Ratcliff) and Susanna Harris; his maternal grandparents were Andrew Quash (pos born Exeter) and Elizabeth Hall. He had a brother and two sisters, named Thomas, Martha and Emma.  He was the second oldest of the four children.
