Thomas was born on April 4th, 1802 in Barking Essex and his baptism took place on April 7th, 1802 at St Margaret's  Church Barking.  Thomas' father was Charles Richard Dunsdon (Fisherman) and his mother was Martha Bowman.  His paternal grandparents were Thomas Dunsdon and Margaret Clough; his maternal grandfather was John Bowman and his maternal grandmother is Sarah. He had a brother and six sisters, named Charles, Martha, Mary, Sarah, Sarah, Eliza and Elizabeth.  He was the fourth oldest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 55 on May 7th, 1857 in Barking Essex.

Thomas and Emma were married in a religious ceremony on May 24th, 1826 at St Margaret's  Church Barking witnessed by Joseph Marchant  Mary Dunsdon. They had seven sons and a daughter, named Thomas, William, Charles, George, George, Frederick, Thomas and Eliza.
